NZ Improv Trust: Board Update

A neon sign reads: "This Is The Sign You've Been Looking For"

The NZ Improv Fest is taking a break in 2022, and the NZ Improv Trust is keen to focus instead on tidying up our governance and management - making sure our organisation is in a good place for the future.

As previously announced on Facebook, director Jennifer O’Sullivan is stepping down from festival management and rejoining the board she co-founded in 2015. She joins Tai Samaeli on the board, while current trustee Amy Davidson steps down. We are grateful to her for her support and mahi over the years and wish her well.

While the board can function with only two members, we would like to expand this to 3-5 people, and are now seeking expressions of interest from across New Zealand for new trustees. Governance, accounting and legal experience are highly valuable, as are applications from tangata whenua and people of other marginalised backgrounds. Involvement in theatrical improvisation is a bonus, but not a requirement - we are looking for enthusiastic supporters of the arts keen to help our next decade of festivals and industry support be even better than the last.

Trustees will need to attend quarterly meetings and support the trust with administration tasks and governance. Trustees receive a small financial koha in exchange for their mahi.

Expressions of interest close on 10 July 2022 and can be made online here. If you have any questions please email jen@improvfest.nz.

Keen to get involved in a more practical, on-the-ground way? We’ll be seeking proposals for NZIF 2023 soon, watch this space!
