The New Zealand Improv Trust is thrilled to announce Jennifer O’Sullivan as its new Chair, succeeding Tai Samaeli.

Tai has been an invaluable member of the Board for seven years, including two years as Chair. During this time, the Trust has made significant strides in supporting and promoting improvisation in Aotearoa. The Board extends heartfelt gratitude to Tai for his dedication, insight, and hard work.

Jennifer O’Sullivan steps into the role with a remarkable legacy of her own. A prominent figure in the New Zealand arts industry, Jennifer directed the New Zealand Improv Festival for nine years, cementing it as a cornerstone of the country’s improv scene and growing its reputation and connections internationally. She has served on the Trust Board for the past three years and is well-known for her strong connections across the arts sector nationwide. Outside of the Trust, Jennifer is a creative producer, teacher, performer and director with a MFA in Creative Practice from Te Herenga Waka Victoria University of Wellington.

As Chair, Jennifer brings vision, experience, and a deep passion for fostering the growth of improvisation. Working with trustees Claire Alderton, Lisa Garrity, and Tai Samaeli, she is excited to lead the Trust going forward as we develop and deliver our vision to support the future of New Zealand improvisation.
