Spotlight On: Jaklene Vukasinovic

Jaklene Vukasinovic is an improvisor, performer and teacher from Melbourne, Australia. Her love of music, dance and drama drew her to theatre at the University of Melbourne, where she began improvising with student collective Off The Cuff in 2006.

Why are you excited about coming to NZIF?
The opportunity to learn and play with a wide variety of performers and teachers from around Australia/NZ and the world beyond!

What do you get out of festivals like NZIF (or NZIF specifically)?
The chance to meet performers and artists I might otherwise never meet. The chance to see people play, and learn from them the next day. The opportunity to meet and play with other improvisors, from those I see every week at home, to those I've met before at other events, to people I've never met before.

Best thing about improv is:
The people you meet, and the kindness that the impro community shares in spades.

Catch Jaklene across NZIF 2016: 4-8 October at BATS Theatre.
